Barking Bear Dog Boarding takes place in Anne & Dan's family home in Kittredge, CO, 30-45 min from Denver, which has:

  • A fully fenced acre for playtime & potty breaks
  • Ten acres of meadow & forest for hikes and zoomies.
  • Two dog-proofed bedrooms dedicated to canine guests.
  • A "rumble room" for play time with couches for naps.
  • Pet gated sections of the house to give dogs their own space until they are fully comfortable with one other.

The Barking Bear family is made up of:

  • Two dog behavior savvy, licensed, insured, and professional pet sitters, Dan & Anne, who both care for your pet and work from home.
  • Our two rescue pups, Ullie and Riley, and a rotating adoptable foster dog.
  • Two cats in their golden years, who are kept separate from all dogs in the house.
  • A wonderful community of long-time customers, so your pup will see familiar friendly faces every stay.

We can accommodate a wide range of temperaments and special needs with Standard Boarding and VIP Boarding*

  • Vaccinated and licensed dogs of any breed, age, or size are welcome
  • Crate trained dogs are eligible for standard boarding and *VIP kennel-free guests should be non-destructive and able to relax in a room by themselves*
  • *All puppies under 1 year are VIP guests* and adults should be spayed/neutered
  • Dog social, dog selective, dog tolerant, and *and VIP guests that need full separation from other dogs* are welcome, if tolerant of dogs under the same roof
  • Guests who need meds, enrichment routines, or elaborate food preparation are welcomed. On a case by case basis, *some special needs may require VIP boarding*
  • Dogs with fear, anxiety, reactivity, and *separation anxiety* are welcome after a successful trial overnight. Private training, daycare, and additional trial overnights may be recommended to make these guests comfortable.
  • Pet parents with their own "separation anxiety", don't worry all pet parents get frequent photo and video updates with either boarding option!
